We've been having lots of summer fun lately which would explain the lapse in posts. I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with this blog this summer but didn't realize it would be this hard! So I am just going to "clump" a bunch of pics into this blog to remember what we've been up to. Our main activity the last several weeks has been SWIMMING! And lots of it! We decided to join Rockbrook Pool instead of Lifetime and we have really enjoyed the change. It is much less crowded and we can take Dave with us on the weekends. So it's been a nice change and the kids have really enjoyed it. They have a great "baby" pool which is perfect for Jack and I and Ellie is a good enough swimmer to be in the big pool all by herself. She is loving going off the diving board and going down the slide and the thing she loves best is when they open the deep end up for just swimming. She loves to touch the bottom---it totally freaks me out but I trust her because she is such a good swimmer! So most of our days have been spent there so far! We spent a day at the lake with some friends from Picotte which my kids just love. They have graciously invited us out several times over the last year and my kids literally think its the greatest thing (and me too!) The kids literally spend the entire time in the water and love every minute. We are very lucky. That is a dream of mine to have a lake house---wishful thinking but I'll keep praying :) Yesterday was not only the the 4th of July but it was also the day that Ellie went away without us for the first time :( Her and my mother in law left bright and early at 6am to fly to Las Vegas for Dave's sisters wedding and then to do some other things in Utah/Nevada. She will be gone for 9 days! She was beyond excited so that eased my anxiety just a bit. Dave flew out today so Jack and I are on our own for a few days. Thankfully Aunt Linda is coming tomorrow so we won't be too bored :) We had a very low-key 4th of July. It was the first year that our circle didn't have a party--it was kind of sad because we've done one every year since we moved in 10 yrs ago (Yikes!!) but a lot of people were gone this year and with Ellie gone I just wasn't in the mood. So instead Dave, Jack and I spent some time at the pool which was fun because they had a lot going on for fun! Then that night our friends Dawn and Joe invited us over for a cookout and fireworks. So all in all it was a nice holiday with good friends but just different than what we have done in the past! I can only imagine all the fun that Ellie is having and I know she is well-taken care of. I will just be counting down the days until she is home as will Jack--he seemed a little lost without her today!
